Overview
String lessons at Gulf Breeze School of Music offer the ultimate opportunity to explore or learn to play the violin, viola, cello, or double bass. Lessons are designed to teach students the fundamentals of technique, ear training and more, using a variety of musical styles to enhance the learning experience. Whether you are looking for a traditional musical experience, fiddle, country, or even rock influenced lessons, our instructors are ready to provide the best instruction available.
Suzuki String Classes are offered for ages 3-6. These lessons have proven techniques for children to learn strings and feature parental involvement, listening, repetition, encouragement, delayed reading, and graded repertoire.

What styles of violin, viola, and cello do you teach?
We teach all styles, from rock, fiddle, classical bass – on electric and acoustic basses.
How qualified are your string instructors?
Our violin, viola, & cello instructors are highly qualified, all have teaching experience, and most importantly, they have a passion for teaching. Being a musician doesn’t automatically make you a teacher–that’s why we search for those who are best qualified for mentoring our music students!
We search the Pensacola Bay area for the top violin, viola, & cello teachers, who embody the high values at Gulf Breeze School of Music. Most importantly, our instructors strive to relate their teaching to each individual student’s learning style. Many of our instructors have gone on performance tours of the USA and Europe and have years of professional performance and teaching experience. In addition to their teaching credentials, our teachers have warm personalities, are extremely friendly, and strive to get to know each student and their parent on a personal level. We search high and low for the BEST teachers, so you don’t have to!
What will I learn from violin, viola, or cello lessons at Gulf Breeze School of Music?
Beginner students can expect to work on chords, simple songs and melodies, sight reading and theory. Our instructors balance musicianship and fun by making sure that each lesson presents a new technical challenges or theory concept, and ends with something fun, such as your favorite riff or song. We use a variety of method books.
Do I need to purchase a violin, viola, or cello to learn the instrument?
Yes, to practice at home, you will need to have an instrument available. However, you do not need to purchase an instrument as there are many options available for renting these types of instruments.
